President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić talked earlier tonight on the phone with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. On that occasion, President Vučić congratulated his colleague, President Erdoğan, on his 67th birthday and wished him good health and success in his work.

In that regard, President Vučić informed President Erdogan about the progress of vaccination in Serbia, as well as about the fact that Serbia continues to help its neighbours in the immunisation process. President Erdoğan said that Serbia thus shows how important peace and cooperation in the Western Balkans are for our country. In that regard,

The two statesmen affirmed that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Turkey are at the highest level and that the two countries are thus contributing to the stability of the entire region. Considering the Serbian-Turkish economic cooperation, they stated that about a thousand Turkish companies operate on the Serbian market currently, and they expressed hope that this number will increase. President Vučić said that he highly appreciates the personal contribution of President Erdoğan to the arrival of investors from Turkey to Serbia. President Vučić and President Erdoğan discussed specific joint projects, highlighting projects in the field of infrastructure such as the highway between Belgrade and Sarajevo.

The two officials also discussed the full range of regional and global issues and expressed hope that circumstances would soon allow them to meet and continue their constructive conversation.
