Since the year of 1815 until today, Serbian deputies, who stayed only for a few months, were always presented in Istanbul (Constantinople). Although the nature of those deputations was not permanent, nor did they represent the official diplomatic mission, they still took a very good care of both Serbian interests and business.

- Jevrem Grujic, 19.02.1869. After gaining its independence, Representation became a Mission of the Principality of Serbia. In the year of 1882. the name was Mission of the Principality of Serbia, then in 1919. Mission of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, and finally in 1929. became Mission of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Mission was closed during the First World War.
