Having in mind the significance and the impact of the Edict оf Milan on the church, state and social life since the age of the Roman Emperor Constatine the Great, who was born in Niš, the Republic of Serbia, until our time, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Ankara informs hereby that the Year of 2013 has been declared in the Republic of Serbia as the Year of Edict of Milan Anniversary Celebration.

The Project „Edict of Milan 313 – 2013, Serbia“ is the State Project dedicated to the jubilee celebration of the 17 centuries of the adoption of the Edict of Milan, which has ended three hundred years of the persecution of the Christians in the Roman Empire.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Organization Board of the Edict of Milan jubilee, chaired by H. E. Mr. Tomislav Nikolić, President of the Republic of Serbia and His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej (Irenaeus), have decided to mark this important anniversary with series of commemorative events.
