The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, talked on the phone with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and expressed his condolences over the victims of the fires that are ravaging the Turkish coast. President Vučić also expressed his readiness for our country, within its capabilities, to help stop the fire, as well as to eliminate its consequences.
Thanking for the friendly support, President Erdoğan, knowing that many Serbian tourists are staying in resorts on the coast there, said that the Turkish authorities are doing everything for their safety. The two statesmen stated that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Turkey are at a high level, especially their economic cooperation, expressing hope that, with the existing possibilities, it will significantly advance.
President Vučić and President Erdoğanalso discussed the situation in the region. In this regard, President Vučić expressed expectation that President Erdoğanand Turkey will continue to support the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, as the only way to resolve, for Serbia, the sensitive issue of Kosovo and Metohija. On this occasion, President Erdoğanconfirmed that he fully supports the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
The two officials also discussed various global issues, with the conviction that circumstances will soon allow them to meet and continue their meaningful conversation. President Vučić invited President Erdoğanto visit Serbia, which the Turkish head of state accepted and confirmed that he would visit our country.
