President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met today for a farewell visit the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Tanju Bilgiç and thanked him for contributing to the strengthening of political dialogue between the two countries, as well as comprehensive cooperation, especially in the field of economy.
The two interlocutors agreed that bilateral relations between Serbia and Turkey are at the highest level today and that thus the two countries provide strong support for the stability of the entire region. In this regard, President Vučić emphasised he was pleased that he had established close cooperation with President Erdoğan, thanks to mutual trust and understanding.
President Vučić said that the political dialogue in recent years has been very intense and that the same can be stated for economic cooperation, considering that trade has almost doubled in the last four years. President Vučić pointed out that he highly respects the personal contribution of President Erdoğan to the arrival of investors from Turkey to Serbia.
Ambassador Bilgiç said that at the moment, about 1,000 Turkish companies operate on the Serbian market and that he is convinced this number will constantly increase, thanks to the good market conditions and the financial stability that our country has achieved.
The two interlocutors also discussed the results of specific joint projects, with the most important projects in the field of infrastructure.
President Vučić wished Ambassador Bilgiç good health, as well as much success in his future professional engagement.
